Tribute to David Seal, 1956 - 2021
David led another life on The Motley Fool and, after that, The Lemon Fool. He went by the moniker "Gengulphus" in both those places. He was equally known there for his mathematical solutions to puzzles as for his understanding of corporate actions and the consequences for shareholders.
He was also a major contributor to the guidelines for the "High-Yield Portfolio" set of investment strategies, which continue to thrive through him (and through pyad, who happily is still with us).
He would devote much thought and patience to many questions of investment, posed by fellow "Fools" on those bulletin boards. His answers were, above all, complete. Looking back I feel he was incredibly generous with his insights. Some would say he went on a bit, but I feel that this was just a great desire to dot the 'i's and cross the 't's. That was just his nature I feel.
I shall miss him. This sad circumstance really does make you want to embrace the idea of an afterlife.
