King of adventures

Created by Jon 2 years ago

I first met David whilst doing my PhD in DPMMS (the boring old warehouse in Mill Lane). We spent a lot of time solving adventure games, and then writing them, including systems in which to create them. The first instance was using the University mainframe, on which we wrote Acheton, and others contributed BrandX (later published as Philosopher's Quest), Hamil, Hezarin, Murdac, Avon (also published) and numerous others. We then redesigned the system from scratch, producing SHOVEL and SPADE on which we and others published games for Acorn, PC and other platforms. David worked incredibly hard at this stuff, like verything he did, but still found time for beer and other pursuits.

Now I'll never find out how the grammatical modifiers work:-(
